Smpl Journal ("the App") is a personal journaling application that helps users track their daily activities, expenses, and tasks.
Information Collection and Use
The App operates primarily offline and stores all user data locally on the device. We do not collect, transmit, or share any personally identifiable information.
Different jurisdictions have different legal obligations of what must be included in a Privacy Policy. You are responsible to make sure you are following the relevant legislation to your activities and location.
Data Storage
• All journal entries, expenses, and tasks are stored locally on your device
• No data is transmitted to external servers by default
• If you choose to enable cloud sync features, data is stored in your personal Firebase account that you control
Permissions Used
Camera Permission (android.permission.CAMERA)
• Purpose: Reserved for future features (QR code scanning for pairing devices)
• Current Use: Not actively used in the current version
• User Control: You can deny this permission and the app will function normally
Internet Permission
• Purpose: Optional cloud synchronization via Firebase (if enabled by user)
• Current Use: Only used when you explicitly enable sync features
• User Control: App works fully offline; internet only used if you enable sync
Your Data Rights
• Ownership: You own all data created in the app
• Control: All data remains on your device unless you enable sync
• Deletion: Uninstalling the app removes all local data
• Export: You can export your data anytime via the app's export feature
Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Changes will be posted in the app and on this page.
